    Q:
How to replace the Sway Bar Link on GMC Sierra 3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start by supporting the vehicle when you have to change the sway bar link. Beginning with the sway bar link bolt nut removal followed by sway bar link bolt removal allows access to sway bar link insulators and spacers so they can be taken out. Thorough examination should occur for each part to look for damage and wear. The first step for installation involves placing the sway bar link insulators and spacers in their original positions. Before putting the sway bar link bolts in place check for any leftover original adhesive and then apply Threadlocker GM P/N 12345382 (Canadian P/N 10953489) BLUE LOCTITE # 242 onto the threads of the bolts. It is essential to first install sway bar link bolts followed by the sway bar nut onto the link bolt and tighten to 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.) torque while leaving 2-4 threads exposed above the nut to stop sway bar damages from clamp load loss. After removing the safety stands the vehicle should be allowed to drop to the ground.
