    Q:
How to replace the starter motor PG260 F1 on Chevrolet Impala? Posted by Customer
    A:
Replace the Starter motor pg260 f1 by starting with battery negative cable disconnection and stable vehicle support. Start the replacement process by uninstalling both front lower air deflector panel and torque converter covers. Disconnect the Starter solenoid bat terminal with its nut then separate the Starter solenoid wire utilizing its s terminal nut removal. Use a socket set to remove the two Starter bolts (1,2) to free the Starter motor from its mount. If shims were present they should be retained. During new Starter installation make sure to use pg260 f1 as the specified model and correctly position it on the engine. Reinstall shims if you removed them as a part of installation. Tighten the Starter bolts (1,2) initially with minimal torque sensation until fully seated before applying 43 n.m (32 lb ft). Reattach the positive Battery Cable first then tighten the solenoid bat terminal nut by hand before wiring the Starter solenoid and installing the s terminal nut to finger tight standards. First tighten the bat terminal nut on the solenoid to 9.5 n.m (84 lb in) before turning to 2.5 n.m (20.5 lb in) tightness for the s terminal nut. Afterward, reinstall all torque converter covers followed by the front lower air deflector panel before lowering the vehicle and returning the battery negative cable.

    Q:
How to service the PG260 F1 starter motor on Chevrolet Lumina? Posted by Customer
    A:
Servicing the pg260 f1 Starter motor that is not servicable / must be replaced entire should first have the negative Battery Cable disconnected as well as raising the vehicle up for support. Remove the electrical connection from the Starter motor, take off the torque converter cover and remove the Starter bolts and any required shims. Once the Starter motor is pulled from the engine, make sure that the replacement is a pg260 f1 before reinstalling it alongside any possible removed shims. Install Starter bolts and tighten them to the torque of 43 n.m (32 lb ft). Install the torque converter cover back and attach the electrical connections to the Starter motor, tighten the Starter solenoid bat terminal nut to 9.5 n.m (84.08 lb in) and the Starter solenoid switch s terminal nut to 2.3 n.m (8.8 lb in). Finally, lower the vehicle and reconnect the negative cable on a battery.
