Blower Motor

You must first take off the insulator from the right side instrument panel before removing the electrical connector from the blower motor. Uninstall the mounting screws for the blower motor and detach the motor from the HVAC module. Once in place, keep the blower motor within the HVAC module assembly according to the Fastener Notice before threading on its mounting screws and tightening them to 1.8 N.m (16 lb in). Plug the electrical connector to the blower motor while you replace the instrument panel insulator on the right side.

You should remove the right side instrument panel insulator before you replace the blower motor. After separating the connector from the blower motor, unscrew the mounts holding the blower motor in place and pull out the motor from the assembly. Insert the blower motor into the HVAC module and ensure it is held in place with the mounting screws, fastened to 1.8 N.m (16 lb in). Afterward, secure the blower motor's wire in the electrical connector and slide the right side instrument panel insulator back into place.

To swap the auxiliary blower motor (with E59 code) you should first take off the left lower trim panel before unplugging both the auxiliary blower motor and resistor electrical connections. Unbolt and clip the lower auxiliary air distribution duct away before taking out its elements. Detach the auxiliary blower motor housing by unscrewing its screws then pull out the motor assembly. Move the auxiliary blower motor housing from the HVAC unit to reach the mounting screws underneath it where the auxiliary blower motor connects to the housing. Attach the auxiliary blower motor to the blower motor housing first and then fix it using mounting screws tightened to 1.6 N.m (14 lb in). Insert the rear tabs of the blower housing at their respective points on the HVAC module and fasten the auxiliary blower motor housing screws by tightening them to 1.6 N.m (14 lb in). Put the lower auxiliary air distribution duct in place then attach its retainers and bolts before tightening them to 10 N.m (89 lb in). Realign the auxiliary blower motor electrical connector and electrical resistor before placing the left lower quarter trim panel back in its position.

The first step to replace E59 involves removing the left lower quarter trim panel before disconnecting both the electrical connectors for the auxiliary blower motor and auxiliary blower motor resistor. The maintenance procedure starts by first detaching lower auxiliary air distribution duct retainers and bolts before the duct itself. Keep in mind that the processing of the auxiliary blower motor necessitates removing it with the blower motor housing. The procedure proceeds through the removal of auxiliary blower motor housing screws and lifting the auxiliary blower motor housing while extracting it from the HVAC module assembly. The next process involves disassembling the auxiliary blower motor mounting screws which lets you extract it from the blower motor housing. To install the auxiliary blower motor apply it first to the blower motor housing and use 1.6 N.m (14 lb in) torque when tightening the mounting screws. Secure the rear tabs of the auxiliary HVAC module assembly first while you position the blower motor housing and then fasten it with auxiliary blower motor housing screws which need to be tightened to 1.6 N.m (14 lb in). Put the lower auxiliary air distribution duct in place before securing the lower auxiliary air distribution retainers with the lower auxiliary air distribution duct bolts that should be tightened to 10 N.m (89 lb in). Resetting the auxiliary blower motor requires linking its electrical connector to its resistor electrical connector then reinstalling the left lower quarter trim panel.

Disconnect the auxiliary blower motor electrical connector, the auxiliary blower motor resistor electrical connector, and the auxiliary air temperature actuator electrical connector.

Release the tabs and pull out the trim panel.

Take out the power sliding door actuator and bracket.

Place the blower motor back in position and secure it with the blower motor screws.

Install the auxiliary blower motor mounting screws and tighten them to 1.6 N.m (14 lb in).
