    Q:
How to replace the engine mount on Chevrolet Malibu? Posted by Customer
    A:
The process of Engine Mount replacement begins with vehicle elevation and support followed by tire and wheel removal and finally the engine splash shield needs to come off. The next step involves removing the Engine Mount to the Engine Mount bracket nuts together with the motor mount to the frame nuts. Install a proper jackstand under the engine to lift it in place before removing the motor mount from the vehicle. Start the procedure by placing the motor mount onto its position on the frame and employing a jackstand to guide the Engine Mount bracket onto the Engine Mount. First install the Engine Mount to frame bolts while tightening them to 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.) and then add the motor mount to motor mount bracket nuts with a tight torque of 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.). The installation process ends by reinstalling the engine splash shield followed by reinstallation of both the tire and wheel. Lastly, lower the vehicle.

    Q:
How to balance the engine mount, motor and transmission mount on Chevrolet Malibu? Posted by Customer
    A:
A proper maintenance procedure for balancing mounts begins with removing both the air cleaner assembly and battery tray. Support the vehicle in elevated position through an appropriate lifting mechanism. Begin by loosening front and rear transaxle through bolts then lower the automobile until you can place two floor jacks with wooden blocks under the transaxle and engine assembly. You should move on to the next step by loosening both transaxle mount bolts and engine mount to bracket bolts until you create a 1/8 inch gap between the mount and bracket. The mechanic should first apply torque to transaxle mount bolts starting with the rear bolt after that move to the front bolt then the middle bolt all with a torque of 45 n.m (33 lb ft) then proceed to tighten the engine mount to bracket bolts rear first followed by the front bolt with a torque of 50 n.m (37 lb ft). Thoroughly remove the floor jacks positioned beneath the Oil Pan before shaking the powertrain from front to rear with strong force. You should let the assembly settle before proceeding. After a second vehicle lift you should tighten transaxle mount through bolts to 100 n.m (74 lb ft). Lower the vehicle and put back the battery tray as well as the air cleaner assembly.
