    Q:
How to replace the front seat belt on GMC Envoy? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step towards replacing the front Seat Belt entails the removal of the seat switch bezel followed by the seat trim panel. First remove the Seat Belt anchor nut connecting the seat adjuster assembly before you detach the screw which holds the front seat back Seat Belt bezel. Use this step to slide the bezel away from the Seat Belt. The next step involves removing the seat back cover and pad after which you should remove the seat back panel connected to the seat back frame. The Seat Belt must be moved through the slot to detach from the retractor bracket before both lower Seat Belt retractor retaining bolt and nut are removed. To uninstall the retractor assembly eliminate the push pin from the seat back frame then remove the Seat Belt retractor bracket bolt from both bracket and frame before disassembling the bracket itself. Position the Seat Belt retractor bracket to the seat back frame before installing the Seat Belt retractor bracket bolt while tightening it to 55 n.m (40 lb ft). Choose a seat back frame location to place the Seat Belt retractor assembly before using the push pin for installation. Insert the lower Seat Belt retractor bolt into its place and tighten it to 55 n.m (40 lb ft). Afterward, guide the Seat Belt through the retractor bracket slot. Repark the seat back frame with its panel then add the seat back pad followed by its cover. Secure the front seat back Seat Belt bezel onto the Seat Belt before fastening it to the retractor bracket with the screw tightened to 6 n.m (53 lb in). Fasten the Seat Belt anchor to the seat adjuster assembly using a nut while checking that the webbing remains unwound before torquing the seat back anchor nut to 52 n.m (38 lb ft). Close the installation sequence with seat trim panel attachment along with the seat switch bezel.
