Filler Neck

A single tank system needs a Fuel Filler Hose replacement process which starts with cleaning fuel pipe and hose connections and the adjacent areas to avoid contamination. Start the hose replacement by draining fuel from the tank until it reaches the bottom of the filling tube. Lower the vehicle to remove the spare tire. Then execute the removal of the fuel fill pipe housing to fuel fill pipe bolts followed by raising the vehicle once again. Separate the fuel fill pipe ground strap and rear axle vent hose from their retainer which holds the fuel fill pipe whenever they are present. The installation requires users to loosen the fuel vent hose to Fuel Tank clamp and the fuel fill hose to Fuel Tank clamp. You should disconnect the fuel fill pipe bracket bolt before removing the fuel fill and vent hoses from the Fuel Tank then take off the fuel fill and vent pipe hose assembly but cap the open Fuel Tank end. During installation the technician must uncap the Fuel Tank before attaching the fuel fill and vent pipe hose assembly while tightening the vent hose clamp and the fuel fill pipe clamp to 2.5 n.m (22 lb in). Fasten the fuel fill pipe bracket bolt with a torque of 12 n.m using 106 lb in of force. Secure the fuel fill pipe ground strap by tightening its bolt to 9 n.m (80 lb in). The rear axle vent hose should be connected to the fuel fill pipe retainer when applicable before installing the spare tire followed by lowering the vehicle. To finish the installation you should mount the fuel fill pipe housing to its bolts while setting torque to 2.3 n.m (20 lb in). After that refill the fuel system and secure the fuel filler cap.

It is essential to clean all fuel components including both fill pipe connections together with the surrounding fuel system contacts before Fuel Filler Hose replacement to avoid fuel system contamination. Construction of new fuel filler tube must happen beneath the filler tube and hose assembly level. Start by elevating the car and then remove the Fuel Tank fuel fill hose clamp followed by the clamp from the fuel pipe filling point. The installation begins by replacing the fuel fill hose (11, 2) its clamps before disconnecting next the fill pipe clamp (8, 10) thus removing the fuel till hose and clamps (8, 10). Cap the Fuel Tank opening. The installation process starts by opening the Fuel Tank and subsequently placing the fuel fill hose together with hose clamps (8, 10) on the fuel fill pipe while clamping the hose clamps at 2.5 n.m (22 lb in). Install next the fuel fill hose with hose clamps (2, 11) onto the fuel fill pipe before securing the clamps at 2.5 n.m (22 lb in). The vehicle should be lowered after recharging the fuel system.
