    Q:
How to replace the power steering pump in a 2.2 (L61) engine on Chevrolet Classic? Posted by Customer
    A:
The procedure for Power Steering Pump replacement on a 2.2 (L61) engine begins by taking out the upper air cleaner and duct and then followed by removing the evap canister purge valve. You should disconnect power steering hoses from the pump before removing the Power Steering Pump mounting bolts to extract the pump from the engine. The Power Steering Pump should be positioned on the engine before installing its mounting bolts which require 26 nm of torque (19 ft. Lbs.). You must put on the power steering hoses to the pump after which install the evap canister purge valve before replacing the upper air cleaner and duct. Proceed to add power steering fluid into the pump then perform air bleeding from the entire power steering system.

    Q:
How to replace the power steering pump on a 2.2L (L61) engine on Chevrolet Cavalier? Posted by Customer
    A:
You need to start by removing the upper air cleaner and duct before taking out the evaporative emission canister purge valve (if present) to change the Power Steering Pump in a 2.2l (L61) engine. Detach power steering fluid lines from the pump before removing the two supporting bolts from the Power Steering Pump. Secure the new Power Steering Pump in position onto the engine by using the two mounting bolts and torque them to 26 n.m (19 lb ft). The power steering hoses need to be reconnected to the pump followed by installation of the evaporative emission canister purge valve (if installed) and return of upper air cleaner along with duct. Add the recommended power steering fluid to the pump before conducting an air bleed procedure of the power steering system.
