    Q:
How to replace the radiator in a LY7 Standard Cooling system on Cadillac CTS? Posted by Customer
    A:
The replacement procedure for a ly7 standard cooling system Radiator needs coolant drainage to begin. Start by lifting the electric cooling fan assembly before supporting the vehicle suspension. The condenser needs its lower and upper mounting bolts to be removed before moving it aside for easy access to the Transmission Oil Cooler mounting bolts. Afterward, the Transmission Oil Cooler bolts are removed. Lower the vehicle after disconnecting the lower retainer pins of the side air baffle from the Radiator then remove the Radiator support bracket bolts followed by the support brackets. To detach the Radiator/condenser upper support workers can use door trim pad clip remover (J 38778) while hose clamp pliers (J 38185) will help disconnect the surge tank inlet hose, Radiator inlet hose, and Radiator outlet hose from the Radiator. Remove the Radiator only after you disconnect the upper retainer pins from the side air baffle. Position the replacement Radiator first before you attach its upper pins to the side air baffle retainers. The hose clamp pliers (J 38185) enables clamping down of the Radiator outlet hose and inlet hose and surge tank inlet hose after their successful reconnection. Cut the new Radiator/condenser upper support for mounting along with the Radiator support brackets into position and then tighten all support bracket bolts to 9 n.m (80 pound inches). To install the components properly lower the vehicle once more to connect the lower retainer pins of the side air baffle. Proceed with installing Transmission Oil Cooler mounting bolts at 5 n.m or 44 lb in before applying upper condenser mounting bolts at 5.4 n.m or 48 lb in and lower condenser mounting bolts at 5.4 n.m or 48 lb in. To complete the procedure the vehicle should be lowered before reinstalling the electric cooling fan assembly and performing cooling system fluid addition.
