The first step for Radiator replacement includes draining coolant from the system. The electric cooling fan assembly needs to be removed in the second step. Support the vehicle before unscrewing both lower and upper bolts that attach to the condenser. First disconnect the lower retainer pins of the side air baffle from the Radiator then lower the vehicle. First disconnect the support brackets and their bolts from the Radiator support bracket. In order to remove the Radiator/condenser upper support utilize tool (J 38778). You should use (J 38185) to disconnect the surge tank inlet hose from the Radiator before setting it aside. Attach (J 38185) to remove tension from the Radiator inlet and outlet hose clamps before disconnecting the hoses from the Radiator. Workers must disconnect the upper retainer pins on the side air baffle attached to the Radiator before lifting out the Radiator. When installing the new Radiator you should first connect the upper retainer pins of the side air baffle to their proper locations. You should use (J 38185) to secure both the Radiator outlet hose and the Radiator inlet hose which leads to the surge tank inlet hose. Insert the Radiator/condenser upper support together with its support brackets while tightening all support bracket bolts to 9 nm (80 lb in). The procedure ends with raising the vehicle next and attaching the lower pins of the side air baffle to the Radiator before tightening the upper and lower condenser bolts to 5.4 nm (48 lb in). Install the electric cooling fan assembly after you have lowered the vehicle. Finally, fill the cooling system.
