    Q:
How to replace the coolant pipe in the intake system on Chevrolet Cavalier? Posted by Customer
    A:
A new Coolant Pipe installation begins with coolant drainage followed by recovery of the liquid and proper usage of gm goodwrench dex-cool(R) coolant because non-matching products require immediate change at either 50,000 km (30,000 miles) or 24 months. To start the repair remove the exhaust manifold heat shield followed by removing the inlet pipe bolt through the exhaust manifold. Start by lifting the vehicle then disconnecting the Radiator Hose from the coolant inlet pipe to oil pan bolt before removing the cover to the coolant inlet pipe bolt. Remove the coolant inlet pipe and its accompanying seal from the system next. Start by installing the inlet pipe along with the seal and follow the fastener notice guidance provided in service precautions. Tighten the cover connecting to the inlet pipe bolt by using 14 nm torque (124 inch lbs. Torque). Tighten the oil pan bolt holding the inlet pipe to 26 nm (19 ft. Lbs.). Reinstall the Radiator Hose on the inlet pipe before lowering the vehicle. Secure the exhaust manifold through the coolant inlet pipe bolt using 14 nm (124 inch lbs.) of torque. Reinstall the exhaust manifold heat shield before filling the cooling system.
