    Q:
How to replace the emblem/nameplate on the rear compartment lid on Chevrolet Monte Carlo? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start replacing the Monte Carlo emblem/nameplate by placing tape on the lid surface as installation guides before damage prevention during removal. Heat the emblem/nameplate with the J25070 Heat Gun for 30 seconds while moving the tool in circles. Use a plastic flat tool to gently pull off the emblem/nameplate from the panel face. To prepare the surface use a molding adhesive remover disk from 3M P/N 07502 or an equivalent for body panels or use a lint-free cloth dipped in VMP naptha or isopropyl alcohol water solution for plastic panels. Begin by cleaning and drying the area where the Monte Carlo and Chevy emblem/nameplates will be installed. Use tape to mark their precise positions before starting the process. The J 25070 Heat Gun at between 80 and 105°F (27 and 41°C) should warm the mounting surface when needed. During application, maintain the emblem/nameplate at a temperature range between 85 and 90°F (29 and 32°C). Set the parts by finger-touching the peel-off on top while placing the emblem/nameplate onto the designated marks and pressing it hard enough for an even bond. Take off the protective tape from the mounting area to complete the installation.
