How to replace the door emblem/nameplate on 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo?

You need to use alignment tapes during installation to help you position the new emblem properly. Also put tape over the surface to prevent damage when you remove the old part. Heat the emblem/nameplate smoothly with the J 25070 Heat Gun in a circular motion for 30 seconds. Gently take off the panel surface emblem using hand tools made of plastic. Before you start installing and remove the old adhesive use correct tools for body panels (3M(TM) Scotch Brite molding adhesive remover disk (3M(TM) P/N 07502)) or plastic panels (use a lint-free cloth with VMP naptha or isopropyl alcohol/water mix). Hold the mounting surface between 27-41 degrees Celsius then mark placements for both door emblem/nameplates with tape. Heat your installation surface to 80-105°F (27-41°C) using the J 25070 Heat Gun before using J 25070 for gun work. Keep the emblem/nameplate temperature between 85-90°F (29-32°C). Place firm pressure across the mounting area while putting the nameplate in marked spots against its surface. Take off the protective tape from the mounting spot where you want to install the nameplate.
