    Q:
How to Replace Coil Springs on Cadillac CTS? Posted by Customer
    A:
Vehicle lifting and wheel support must occur during coil spring replacement before tire removal. Start by unprompting the brake pipe bracket nuts and afterward taking out the brake pipe bracket from its mounting studs during the right coil spring replacement process. A suitable jack should support the lower Control Arm so technicians can remove the lower shock mounting bolt. Start by lowering the lower Control Arm before removing its support. Then apply the suitable jack to support the cradle. The professional procedure involves removing both side cradle to body mounting bolts and accompanying washers while extracting bolts from the side which requires new coil spring installation. Lower the cradle side enough to unmount the coil spring from the vehicle. To begin installation locate your replacement coil spring under the vehicle while you lift the cradle upwards. Install the frame to body mounting bolts and washers then tighten the bolts beginning with 265 nm (195 ft. Lbs.) for the fronts followed by 191 nm (141 ft. Lbs.) for the rears. Use a suitable jack under the lower Control Arm to lift it until the shock absorber meets the knuckle before installing the lower retaining bolt at 150 nm torque (111 ft. Lbs). Reinstall the brake pipe bracket to its mounting studs while tightening retaining nuts to a torque of 10 nm (89 inch lbs.). After raising the vehicle, install the tire and wheel and allow the vehicle to lower.
