    Q:
How to replace the Heated Oxygen Sensor 1 on Chevrolet HHR? Posted by Customer
    A:
Start by opening the hood to access the Heated Oxygen Sensor 1 and then remove the connector position assurance retainer. Break the connection between the HO2S electrical connector and engine wiring harness electrical connector then take off the HO2S electrical connector clip from the camshaft cover. Remove the position 1 HO2S with the J 39194 (Oxygen Sensor Wrench). The threads of the original HO2S require special anti-seize compound GM P/N 12377953 or equivalent for future removal when reinstalling. The oxygen sensor wrench J 39194 allows you to install the position 1 HO2S which should then be tightened to 42 Nm (31 lb ft). Connect the engine wiring harness electrical connector back to the HO2S electrical connector and connect the HO2S electrical connector clip to the camshaft cover. Then install the CPA retainer before closing the hood.
