2010 Chevrolet HHR Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) on 2010 Chevrolet HHR?
A: You must take away the exhaust manifold heat shield before replacing the heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S). To work on the automatic transaxle vehicle you need to first remove the connector position assurance (CPA) retainer before disconnecting the engine harness electrical connector from the ho2s. The manual transaxle process requires removal of the cpa retainer along with unconnecting the engine harness electrical connector from the ho2s. The Thermostat Housing requires the removal of the ho2s electrical connector clip before the technician can uninstall the ho2s itself. Before reinstallation of the ho2s use gm p/n 12377953 anti-seize compound or equivalent on its threads. Tighten the sensor until it reaches a torque of 42 nm under 31 lb ft. A manual transaxle requires an electrical connector of the engine harness to attach to the ho2s before installing the cpa retainer. You should install the automatic transaxle cpa retainer after connecting its engine harness electrical connector to the ho2s. You must install the ho2s electrical connector clip first to the Thermostat Housing while replacing the exhaust manifold heat shield.
