2010 Chevrolet HHR Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the exhaust Camshaft Position Sensor on 2010 Chevrolet HHR?
A: The first step to replace the exhaust Camshaft Position Sensor consists of taking off the air cleaner assembly. Disconnect the exhaust camshaft position (CMP) sensor electrical connector and remove the cmp sensor bolt while keeping in mind that the intake cmp is demonstrated but the exhaust cmp follows the same procedure. Check the cmp sensor condition after removal. Replace it if damage is present. Prior to cmp sensor installation both intake and exhaust require an application of clean engine oil on the o-ring seal. Insert the cmp sensor bolt first then tighten it to 10 nm (89 lb in). After reinstallation of the air cleaner assembly you should reconnect the exhaust cmp sensor electrical connector last.
