How to Replace a Heated Oxygen Sensor (Sensor 1) Using an Oxygen Sensor Wrench on 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt?

The process of replacing the Heated Oxygen Sensor (Sensor 1) must start with vehicle hood opening and removal of underhood junction block bracket. First disconnect the engine wiring harness electrical connector from the HO2S electrical connector while removing the connector position assurance retainer. Use the J 39194 (Oxygen Sensor Wrench) to remove the position 1 HO2S after disconnecting its HO2S electrical connector clip from the camshaft cover. The threads of any reusable HO2S require anti-seize compound GM P/N 12377953 or its equivalent before installation along with precise adherence to fastening precautions. The J 39194 (Oxygen Sensor Wrench) should be used for installing position 1 HO2S with a proper torque of 42 Nm (31 lb ft). The engine wiring harness electrical connector should be reconnected to the HO2S electrical connector then the HO2S electrical connector clip should attach to the camshaft cover before CPA retainer fastening. Reinstall both the underhood junction block bracket before closing the hood.
