    Q:
How to service and repair the knock sensor on GMC Jimmy? Posted by Customer
    A:
The Knock Sensor needs repair which starts by disconnecting the Spark Plug Wires and ignition coil wire from the Distributor before moving on to detach the cmp sensor harness connector from the Distributor. First remove the Distributor Cap screws while maintaining observation of the rotor alignment relative to the Distributor base to prevent dtc p1345 code generation. Begin Distributor service by removing the mounting bolt and associated Distributor assembly while discarding the gasket. By utilizing the j 35748 oil pressure sending unit socket disconnect the engine oil pressure sensor harness connector then remove the engine oil pressure sender. Begin by detaching both the Knock Sensor harness connector followed by the Knock Sensor itself. Start by installing the Knock Sensor followed by tightening it to 20 n.m (15 lb ft). Attach the Knock Sensor harness connector after you install the engine oil pressure sender with the j 35748 oil pressure sending unit socket while tightening it to 30 n.m (22 lb ft). Reattach the engine oil pressure sensor harness connector. Make sure the rotor occupies its factory alignment with the Distributor base before adding the Distributor assembly with a fresh Distributor gasket. Fasten the Distributor mounting bolt to 25 n.m (18 lb ft), then install and tighten the Distributor Cap screws to 2.4 n.m (21 lb in). Complete the wiring process by attaching the cmp sensor harness connector and both Spark Plug Wires accompanied by the ignition coil wire.
