    Q:
How to replace the Parking Brake Shoe on Chevrolet Impala? Posted by Customer
    A:
To replace the Parking Brake Shoe, rotate the tire and wheel assemblies, then lift and support the vehicle before removing the rear tire and wheel assemblies. Relieve the park brake system tension at the equalizer assembly and thereafter removing the rear caliper bracket and the rear rotor. Detach and remove the rear park brake cable from the bracket at the rear wheel as well as the park brake cable return spring, from the park brake actuator and bracket at the rear wheel. Then, it is time to remove the rear hub, which consists of the rear hub, back up plate, park brake cable bracket, and park brake actuator as assembly. Take out the retainers, and the park brake cable bracket, from the park brake actuator, and set the rear hub aside. Unscrew the disconnector park brake shoe and disconnector park brake actuator from the backing plate and disconnect the park brake shoe from the actuator. In the park brake shoe fit it to the actuator and you need to fit the park brake shoe and actuator onto backing plate. Mount the assembly on top of the rear hub, install park brake cable bracket and two retainers. Install the rear hub while making sure that the rear hub, backing plate, park brake cable bracket and the park brake actuator are assembled. Clip the rear park brake cable into the bracket at the rear wheel and the park brake cable return spring to the park brake actuator/ bracket at the rear wheel. Put on the rear rotor, followed by the rear caliper bracket, and lastly the rear tire and wheel assembly. Tune the park-brake system and bring the car down.
