Striker

The first step to replace the rear sliding Door Lock striker requires removal of both sliding Door Striker screws and sliding Door Striker along with its accompanying shim from the c-pillar. Return the sliding Door Striker in addition to the shim by attaching them to the c-pillar. The strikers enter a stubbed caged nut to achieve approximately 4 mm (0.15 in) of adjustment through an oversized receptacle. After ensuring the striker cannot properly engage the Door Lock, follow the procedures for rear side door up/down adjustment along with rear side door front edge in/out adjustment and rear side door rear edge in/out adjustment to complete necessary adjustments on the door. Apply the striker to ensure door flatness while maintaining its position through the hole but refrain from using it to elevate or descend the door. Check that the latch meets the center of the striker directly. You must add or remove shims for appropriate alignment if the position is incorrect. Secure the sliding Door Striker screws with 25 n.m (18 lb ft) tightness level.

Adjust the lock striker if necessary.

Ensure to align the lock striker with the previously marked position.

Remove the sliding door striker screws, followed by the striker and shim from the C-pillar.

Remove the screws from the lock striker, followed by the lock striker and shims.

Install the anchor plate.

Remove the rear quarter lower trim to access the anchor plate.

Reinstall the center pillar lower trim.

Remove the rear quarter lower trim to access the anchor plate.

Use the striker to adjust the door for flushness, but do not use it to raise or lower the door.

Adjust the door within the frame as necessary.

Position the new front door lock striker at the scribed location on the B-pillar, ensuring to follow the Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

Position the front door lock striker shim and plate at the scribed location on the B-pillar, then install the front door lock striker screws and tighten them to 25 Nm (18 lb ft) in the correct sequence.

Open the front door and scribe the location of the existing front door lock striker on the B-pillar with a grease pencil.

Remove the front door lock striker screws, followed by the removal of the front door lock striker plate and shim from the B-pillar.

Place the sliding door striker and shim back onto the C-pillar, ensuring that the striker is mounted through an oversized hole into a caged nut, allowing for approximately 4 mm (0.15 in) of adjustment.
