Disabling the SIR system is the first requirement before beginning replacement of the power seat switch. The power seat switch is accessible by first removing the seat cushion but keep the lumbar switch knob on to prevent breaking it. The flat bladed tool should be used to carefully remove each knob from its place. The Door Trim Pad Clip Remover (Tool J 38778) must be utilized to eliminate the push-in retainers on the seat cushion frame base before removing the power seat switch bezel. You must remove the J channel retainers from the seat cushion frame to the seat cushion cover before getting to the power seat switch bracket. Employ the Door Trim Pad Clip Remover (J 38778) to unfasten all push-in retention elements on the power seat switch bracket. You should remove the power seat switch and its bracket from the seat cushion frame by following the wiring harness path for damage prevention when reinstalling. Position the flat bladed tool on each power seat switch before removing it from the bracket after disconnecting the electrical connectors. Install power seat switches inside the switch bracket before you reintegrate the wiring harness correctly and connect the electrical connectors to the power seat switches. Prepare the seat cushion frame by sliding the bracket holding the switches in an upward direction. Then fasten the bracket with switches by using retainers and set the seat cushion cover over the switches with their holes lining up with the switch assembly. Fit the power seat switch bezel on top of the switches then install its shelf fasteners. As the final step install the power seat switch knobs along with reiterating the seat cushion replacement and activating the SIR system.

A small flat instrument will help you slowly extract the memory seat switch from the door trim panel for its replacement. Remove the plug first before taking out the electrical connector. When installing the memory seat switch start by joining the electrical connector to the switch followed by alignment of the switch within the door trim opening until the switch snaps into its position.

Place the power seat switch into the switch bracket.

Disconnect the electrical connectors from the power seat switches and use a flat bladed tool to remove the switch from the bracket.

Release the J channel retainers securing the seat cushion cover to the seat cushion frame.

Use a flat bladed tool to detach the lumbar switch from the power seat switch bracket.

Remove the seat cushion, taking care not to remove the lumbar switch knob to avoid breakage.

Use a flat bladed tool to detach the lumbar switch from the power seat switch bracket.

Snap the door lock switch into the door switch bezel.

Reinstall the seat cushion.

Secure the switch with the push-in fastener, reinstall the J channel retainers, and cover the switch with the seat cushion cover.

Position the power seat switch bezel over the switches, engage the fasteners, install the power seat switch knobs, and the seat cushion.

Connect the electrical connector to the power seat switch.

Release the J channel retainers to access the power seat switch.

Calibrate the seat as needed.

Take out the folding seat switch from the trim panel.

Use the flat-bladed tool to disengage the locking tabs from both sides of the switch and remove the lock switch.

Place the folding seat switch back into the trim panel.

Finally, calibrate the seat using the Power Folding Seat Calibration procedure.

First, remove the body side rear trim panel.

Remove the seat cushion from the adjuster track.
