    Q:
How to replace the fuel tank module on the right side on Chevrolet Corvette? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin the right Fuel Tank module replacement process by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable and removing the right Fuel Tank yet placing it on a suitable work station. Start the replacement by disconnecting the evap purge line from the Fuel Pump module and then disconnecting the Fuel Pump module harness connector and the Fuel Tank pressure sensor harness connector. The Fuel Pump module replacement process requires users to remove the ftp sensor. The jet line insert connector needs removal from the crossover tube which leads into the Fuel Tank opening. The Fuel Pump module possesses spring action which causes it to rise upward after unscrewing the locking ring. The fuel sender lock ring tool (J39765-A) helps users remove the Fuel Pump module locking ring so they can pull out the module from the Fuel Tank by maintaining connection of the jet lines to protect the fuel sender float arm. The jet line quick-connect connectors need removal from the Fuel Pump module while noting their positions ahead of reconnection. Additionally, extract the Fuel Pump module o-ring from the tank opening. Remove the jet line insert through the crossover tube which leads to the Fuel Tank opening. Before installation of new components check the jet line insert for damage and replace if needed followed by inserting a new Fuel Pump module o-ring to the Fuel Tank opening. Pull the connectors to verify their proper latching before pulling the quick-connectors up to the pump module opening where they should reconnect as explained before. After placing the pump module into the Fuel Tank avoid damaging the float arm continue by aligning and compressing the Fuel Pump module when installing the lock ring. The fuel sender lock ring tool (J39765-A) must be used to secure the Fuel Pump module lock ring completely. A dmm shows that the Fuel Pump module resistance checks should display 250 ohms when the tank is full and 40 ohms when it is empty after turning the tank upside down. Complete the jet line insert connector attachment by pulling it out until it meets specifications and attach it to the crossover tube at the Fuel Tank opening. You need to install the ftp sensor first before connecting its harness connector followed by the Fuel Pump module harness connector and lastly attaching the evap purge line from the Fuel Pump module before setting the right Fuel Tank.
