Control Module

You need to take off the door trims first before disconnecting electrical connections to work on the Door Control Module. After disconnecting the electrical connectors you need to take out the door control module by removing its fasteners. Place the door control module into position and fasten it with its hardware items. Then tighten the hardware pieces to 7 N.m according to the Fastener Notice in Service Precautions. Relace the door trim panel once you have connected all electrical wires.

Begin by removing the door trim panel then disconnect the wire connectors while replacing the Body Control Module. First disconnect the door control module fasteners before extracting the door control module from the vehicle. Installing the door control module requires first mounting the module and then tightening the fasteners to 7 N.m (62 lb in) according to the instructions in the Fastener Notice of Service Precautions. Complete the process by replacing the electrical connectors and reinstalling the door trim panel after fastening completion.

First step to dismantle the body control module is to take off the right closeout/insulator panel. Pulling down while spreading the latch tabs from the bracket sides frees the module from its mounting bracket. Uncoil the electrical connector from its last position. Secure the body control module electric connection and insert the module onto its bracket by pushing it upwards then back until the locking elements lock into place. Reinstall the right closeout panel that insulates.

When you replace the Body Control Module start with disconnecting the negative Battery Cable. Twist the bcm retaining lever to take out the bcm from the junction block where the console accessory wiring is connected. Pull the bcm unit out from its connection to the junction block area. Put the bcm in the correct position and place it onto the control assembly wiring junction block for installation. Use the retaining lever to secure the bcm by turning it and get the console accessory wiring junction block back in place. Reinsert the battery clamp and proceed with the bcm set up after reading the information at control module references.

The process to replace the Body Control Module starts with door trim panel removal before disconnection of control module electrical connectors. The first step is to separate the door control module by freeing the retainer tabs. Installation begins by attaching the door module to the water deflector then joining each electrical connector . Complete the installment by attaching the door trim panel. Reprogramming through Window Motor Programming - Express Function is required for modules equipped with the express-up function.

Disconnect the electrical connectors from the rear door module and remove the fasteners that secure the junction block to the rear floor, setting the junction block aside.

Connect the electrical connector to the body control module.

Align the BCM to the console accessory wiring junction block, then install it onto the junction block.

Remove the console accessory wiring junction block and rotate the BCM retaining lever to release the BCM from the junction block.

Reinstall the right closeout/insulator panel and reprogram the body control module as needed.

Complete the new BCM setup.

Reinstall the right closeout/insulator panel and reprogram the body control module, ensuring to follow the BCM Programming/RPO Configuration process.

Reinstall the right closeout/insulator panel and reprogram the BCM as necessary.

Reinstall the console accessory wiring junction block and reconnect the negative battery cable.

First, remove the door trim panel.
