    Q:
How to service and repair the Wiper Pivot on Buick LeSabre? Posted by Customer
    A:
You can start fixing the Wiper Motor linkage after taking off the wiper arms and air inlet grille panel. Begin by unlatching and then removing three bolts with two nuts securing the windshield frame reinforcement. This step makes way for a smooth extraction of the reinforcement part. Turn the Wiper Motor crank arm between park and opposite locations using the links to push or pull the system. Pull the Wiper Motor harness through the plenum opening after you detach the grommet from the plenum hole and disconnect the Wiper Motor plug. During replacement apply the wiper transmission separator tool and unscrew the three screws securing the wiper system drive module before taking it out of the vehicle. Unclip the drive links from each end of the wiper transmission drive shafts by using the same tool twice. Pull the Wiper Motor screws to free up the unit and remove it from inside the wiper drive system module. Install the Wiper Motor to the module using the wiper transmission installer (J 39529) then fasten it with screws at 8 n.m (71 lb in). Place the wiper drive links over their proper positions on the motor arm and transmission shafts before setting the lower wiper unit into the upper plenum space with the motor nose downward. Position and hold the wiper drive system module while turning the motor forward until its nose points toward the vehicle's back section. Then attach the unit with three screws and tighten them to 8 n.m (71 lb in). After threading the electrical wires and grommet through the plenum space push them into place and join the wiper connector before sliding the grommet back in. Put back the windshield frame reinforcement parts with three bolts and two nuts then tighten them to 9 n.m (80 lb in). Add the air inlet grille panel and wiper arms afterwards. Test if your wiper system functions correctly.
