Wiper Insert

Uninstall the Wiper Blade from its arm to replace the Wiper Blade part. If the Wiper Blade came apart during removal replace it at the same time. Release the bottom claws of the Wiper Blade from its notches on the Wiper Blade element and push the element out through the wrecker set. Put the open end of the new Wiper Blade element in the bottom claws while maintaining claws in the rubber channels to avoid metal contact. Start by pushing the Wiper Blade element through the claw sets followed by inserting its bottom claw into the Wiper Blade element notches. Reinstall the blade on its arm after completing these steps.

Position the wiper blade pivot in the inside radius of the wiper arm hook.

Install the wiper arm onto the pivot shaft, aligning the wiper blade with the locating marks on the windshield, which are 112.1 mm (4.41 in) from the base for the passenger side and 79.6 mm (3.13 in) for the driver side.

Turn the ignition switch to the ACCY position and set the wiper switch to DELAY or AUTO DELAY.

First, remove the wiper blade from the wiper arm and detach the bottom claws of the wiper blade from the notches in the wiper blade element. Then, pull the wiper blade element out through the wiper blade claws.

Clean the wiper arm pivot shaft knurls with a wire brush.

Turn the ignition switch to the ACCY position and set the wiper switch to DELAY or AUTO DELAY.

Insert the hook of the wiper arm through the opening in the wiper blade.

Install the wiper arm onto the pivot shaft, aligning the wiper blade with the locating marks on the windshield, or position the center of the blades at specified distances: 112.1 mm (4.41 in) for the passenger side and 79.6 mm (3.13 in) for the driver side.

Operate the wipers and washers to check for proper operation.

Clean the wiper transmission pivot shaft knurls with a wire brush.

Install the wiper blade first, ensuring the wiper arm is aligned with the mark made during removal.

Operate the wipers to check for proper function.

Install the wiper arm onto the drive shaft, then secure it with the nut, tightening it to 32 N.m (24 lb ft).

First, push in the button of the wiper blade clip to remove the wiper blade from the inside radius of the wiper arm, then bring the wiper arm out through the opening in the wiper blade.

Clean the drive shaft knurls with a wire brush and remove the wiper blade from the wiper arm.

Secure the nut on the wiper arm pivot shaft, tightening it to 32 N.m (24 lb ft), then install the cover on the nut and reconnect the washer hose to the air inlet grille panel.

Inspect the wiper washer system for proper operation.

Insert the hook of the wiper arm through the opening in the wiper blade, position the wiper blade pivot in the inside radius of the wiper arm hook, and pull the wiper blade pivot into the wiper arm hook until it locks.

Set the wipers in the Park position and mark the position of the wiper blade on the windshield with a suitable marker or a piece of masking tape.

Ensure the wiper blade claws remain in the rubber claw channel of the wiper blade element and do not contact the metal spline.

Lubricate the washer hose with windshield washer solvent for easier installation on the washer nozzle, then connect the wiper hose to the washer nozzle connector.

Pull the wiper blade pivot into the wiper arm hook until it locks securely, and finally, inspect the wiper washer system for proper operation.

Remove the cover from the nut, then take off the nut and the wiper arm from the drive shaft using J 39822.

Remove the cover from the nut, then the nut from the wiper arm. Use the J 39822 to remove the wiper arm from the drive shaft.

Attach the wiper blade to the wiper arm, ensuring the wiper system is in the park position to prevent damage.

Position the wiper blade pivot in the inside radius of the wiper arm hook.

Turn the ignition OFF.
