    Q:
How to replace the Transmission Oil Cooler Hose on Chevrolet Astro? Posted by Customer
    A:
One should first lift the vehicle before starting the replacement process of the transmission fluid cooler hose/pipe. You must eliminate the oil cooler lines from both the Radiator and transmission as well as the mounting bracket before removing them from the car. Start the installation procedure by fitting the transmission oil cooler line to its proper location on the vehicle before fastening the oil cooler lines to the mounting bracket. Excessive corrosion warrants that any existing lines and fittings must be replaced with new components and all retaining rings from quick connect fittings need replacement with fresh ones. You should connect the oil cooler lines first to the transmission and then to the Radiator then perform the vehicle lowering process.

    Q:
How to replace the Engine Oil Cooler Hose/Pipe on GMC Safari? Posted by Customer
    A:
First replace the engine Oil Cooler Hose/pipe only when the engine has sufficiently cooled down to prevent burns. An oil filter adapter drain pan should be set in place before removing the oil filter adapter assembly bolt and.disconnecting the lines from the oil filter assembly. Begin by using a wrench to detach the engine oil cooler line to engine bracket bolt then remove the lines one at a time from both engine bracket and Radiator. The engine oil cooler lines should be cleaned using an appropriate solvent until all components are completely dry by blowing through them with compressed air. Check all connector fittings and connectors and engine oil cooler lines for any sign of damage or distortion. Before you install new engine oil cooler lines make sure you inspect them for any plastic caps that are damaged or missing because you need to replace them if they are missing. Follow installation procedures by securing the engine lines to their bracket and using a torque wrench to tighten the engine oil cooler line bracket bolt to 10 nm (89 inch lbs.). At the conclusion attach the engine oil cooler lines to the oil filter adapter assembly before using a torque wrench to apply 35 nm (26 ft. Lbs.) of force to the oil cooler lines to oil filter adapter assembly bolt.

    Q:
How to Properly Replace a Transmission Oil Cooler Hose on GMC Safari? Posted by Customer
    A:
In order to change the transmission fluid cooler hose/pipe, first raise the vehicle, disconnect the oil cooler lines from the Radiator, transmission and mounting bracket and remove the cooler lines from the vehicle. For installation, start by attaching the transmission oil cooler line to the vehicle and fix the oil cooler lines to the mounting bracket. It is essential that all existing oil lines, fittings cannot be re-used in case of excessive corrosion, and all the retaining rings taken from the fittings of the plumbing connected to the quick connect must be replaced with new ones. Lastly, join the oil cooler lines to both the transmission and Radiator, before lowering the automobile.

    Q:
How to replace the Transmission Oil Cooler Hose on GMC Safari? Posted by Customer
    A:
Vehicle elevation is the first step when replacing the transmission fluid cooler hose or pipe. Securely pull the plastic cap from quick connect fittings until it reaches about two inches beyond their original positions before removing oil cooler lines from the Radiator and transmission. A bent-tip screwdriver should be used to rotate and remove the retaining ring from the quick connect fitting for discarding. To remove a cooler line from the vehicle you should first let it fully extend from the connector while also removing all retaining rings (E-clips) linking the line to available quick connect fittings. Only new oil lines and fittings and retaining rings must be used for installation purposes. Follow this procedure to install the new retaining ring (E-clip): guide its half into one of the slots on the quick connect fitting and rotate it while ensuring the three clearance holes move through the slots without restriction. Each line of the cooler should receive a new plastic cap before installation and it is necessary to replace damaged caps. When installing cooler lines into the vehicle, users must place the end of the cooler line into the quick connect fitting until they hear or feel a click and should not place the plastic cap for installation. To verify proper fitting attachment pull the cooler line firmly backward before placing the plastic cap on the fitting without using your hand to depress the retaining ring and ensuring total fitting coverage without gaps with the yellow tube identification completely hidden inside. Place the final oil cooler line ends into both transmission and Radiator.
