Oil Tube

The replacement process starts by extracting the oil level indicator from its tube followed by disconnection of the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor electrical connector to extract the ect sensor connector from the tube. Begin by removing the indicator tube bolt then the indicator tube bracket before taking out the o-ring seal from the indicator tube. When installing the indicator tube maintain a gap between it and Spark Plug Wires by routing them around each other. Install a new o-ring seal onto the indicator tube after which you should insert the indicator tube into the Oil Pan with the bracket properly aligned to the bolt hole in the block. Impact the indicator tube bolt before tightening it to 25 nm (18 ft. Lbs.). The ect sensor connector must be restored to the indicator tube along with connection of the ect sensor electrical connector before installing the oil level indicator on the tube.

The first task involves removing the oil level indicator along with its bolt before extracting the tube from the engine block. Check the o-ring seal to determine whether it is in usable condition for reuse but remove it if there is damage or cutting present. The o-ring seal needs cleaning oil from the engine before being fitted with a replacement seal on the oil level indicator tube if necessary. Place the oil level indicator tube on the path from Exhaust Manifold to engine block afterpricing up the vehicle and securing it at the desired height. Install the oil level indicator tube into the block while aligning its collar to the block surface before lowering the supported vehicle. Fasten the oil level indicator tube bolt at 25 nm tension (18 ft. Lbs.) before installing the oil level indicator.

Begin the oil level indicator and tube replacement process by taking out the oil level indicator from the indicator tube then disconnect and delete the engine coolant temperature (ECT) sensor electrical connector from the indicator tube. Home the indicator tube bolt then disconnect the indicator tube bracket before removing the o-ring seal from the indicator tube. When installing the indicator system maintain safe distance between the tube and Spark Plug Wires and direct the wires to go around it. New o-ring seals must be placed onto the indicator tube before inserting it into the Oil Pan while position the bracket to line up with the block hole. Secure the indicator tube bolt at 25 nm torque (18 ft. Lbs.). The installation requires reattaching the ect sensor connector to the indicator tube and connecting the ect sensor electrical connector followed by installing the oil level indicator to the tube.

The first step to replacing both the oil level indicator (418) and tube bolt (419) involves removing them from their positions so mechanics can withdraw the oil level indicator tube (420) which extends from the engine block for inspection of the o-ring seal (421). When the condition checks out, they can reinstall the tube. It becomes necessary to discard the o-ring seal from the tube. The installation process requires engine oil lubrication of the o-ring seal and possibly new o-ring installation onto the oil level indicator tube. Insert the oil level indicator tube (420) through the engine block with the collar in full contact against the block surface and support the vehicle while positioning the tube between the block and Exhaust Manifold. Install the oil level indicator tube bolt (419) through the block while keeping the vehicle lowered then fasten it with a torque setting of 25 n.m (18 lb ft) before putting on the oil level indicator (418).

Install a NEW O-ring seal onto the oil level indicator tube.

Take out the oil level indicator tube from the engine block, ensuring the O-ring seal is intact and free from cuts or damage.
