    Q:
How to replace the Air Inject Check Valve for Bank 1 on Cadillac DeVille? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to replace the bank 1 secondary air injection (AIR) shut-off valve begins with raising the vehicle. Start by raising the vehicle before removing the two nuts holding the outlet pipe to the Exhaust Manifold. Lower the vehicle afterward. Extract the bank 1 intermediate pipe/hose from its position on the bank 1 air shut-off valve after disconnecting it from the valve then eliminate both vacuum lines attached to it. Remove the three engine securing nuts of the bank 1 air outlet pipe's air shut-off valve followed by removing the valve from the outlet pipe. The installation of bank 1 air shut-off valve requires connection of this component with a new gasket to the bank 1 air outlet pipe while strictly following fastener notice in service precautions. Secure the bank 1 air shut-off valve to the engine with three nuts which need to be tightened to 9 n.m (80 lb in). The vacuum lines require reinstallment while returning the bank 1 air intermediate pipe/hose and clamp to connect with the bank 1 air shut-off valve system. Attach the two securing nuts between the bank 1 air outlet pipe and Exhaust Manifold at 9 n.m torque, repeat for the opposite side before dropping the vehicle.
