    Q:
How to properly service and repair the EGR Tube on Chevrolet Equinox? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to replace the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) pipe requires removal of the injector sight shield. Start by unscrewing the bolt which maintains the egr pipe to the EGR Valve . After that, remove the 2 bolts attaching the egr pipe to the Exhaust Manifold before taking out the egr pipe plus its gasket. To install the new pipe start by putting the Exhaust Manifold gasket against the egr pipe and then fasten the pipe with its 2 bolts at 10 n.m (89 lb in). Begin by installing the bolt to bind the egr pipe to the EGR Valve followed by bolt torquing to 30 n.m (22 lb ft). Completion of the installation requires putting back the injector sight shield.

The first step to replace the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) pipe is removing the injector sight shield. First detach the bolt securing the egr pipe to the EGR Valve. Then remove the 2 bolts retaining the egr pipe to the Exhaust Manifold. After these procedures remove the egr pipe together with the egr pipe to Exhaust Manifold gasket. Start by placing the new egr pipe to Exhaust Manifold gasket on the engine bay before proceeding to install the egr pipe with 2 bolts securely fastened to 10 n.m (89 lb in). Screw in the bolt for egr pipe attachment to the EGR Valve until it reaches 30 n.m (22 lb ft) torque. Put the injector sight shield back into position as the last installation step.

    Q:
How to replace the EGR valve on Chevrolet Equinox? Posted by Customer
    A:
The replacement process for the EGR Valve starts with egr pipe removal and separate connection of the electrical connector from the EGR Valve. First remove EGR Valve bolts then separate EGR Valve from its position before removing the EGR Valve Gasket. You must clean the mating surface for the EGR Valve before inserting the new gasket along with the EGR Valve onto the Intake Manifold. For securing the EGR Valve utilize the bolts while applying a torque of 30 n.m (22 lb ft) according to the fastener notice under service precautions. The installation ends when you reconnect the EGR Valve electrical connector followed by reinstallation of the egr pipe.
