    Q:
How to replace a water pump on Chevrolet Avalanche 2500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Begin replacement of the Water Pump by first draining all cooling system fluids. First take away the Drive Belt and then unhook the Fan Clutch. Move the outlet hose clamp at the Water Pump location before taking out the outlet hose. First shift the bypass hose clamps from their original positions at both the Water Pump and water crossover. Take off the Water Pump nuts and pull out the entire Water Pump unit while discarding the worn gaskets. Apply the new Water Pump gaskets correctly and fit the Water Pump piece into position. Fasten Water Pump bolts to 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.), attach bypass hose then place the hose clamps on the Water Pump and water crossover parts. Place the Water Pump outlet hose on its designated port then fasten the outlet hose clamp. After adding the Fan Clutch put on the Drive Belt and complete filling the cooling system.

    Q:
How to replace the water pump on 4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.0L engines on GMC Yukon XL 2500? Posted by Customer
    A:
The first step to change the Water Pump on 4.8l, 5.3l, and 6.0l engines involves emptying the cooling system. Detach the clamps from air cleaner ducts at Throttle Body and maf/iat sensor to remove the radiator inlet hose clip from outlet duct and take out the air cleaner outlet duct. Separate the engine sight shield and the radiator vent inlet hose from their clips if necessary. Affix the hose clamp on the Water Pump inlet then disconnect both the water inlet hose and Fan Blade. Insert the outlet hose clamp at the Water Pump and take off the outlet hose. Then slide the clamp onto the surge tank outlet and disconnect the hose. Supplant these steps with the heater inlet tube before loosening the Water Pump supports to extract the Water Pump and gasket units which you must discard. Install the Water Pump with fresh gaskets since there should be no oil or foreign material on its surfaces. Put new gaskets into the Water Pump and reattach all Water Pump bolts. Start tightening the bolts at 15 nm then at 30 nm. Put back the heater inlet hose and its clamp first and follow with the surge tank outlet hose and its clamp then the outlet hose and damage-free clamp. Fasten the belt and Fan Blade before connecting the inlet tube and securing its clamp. Place the engine vent intake hose back on the radiator hose mounts before reinstalling any necessary engine sight shield and attaching the air cleaner outlet system. Keep the arrow on the Throttle Body end lined directly with the Throttle Body base piece. After setting the radiator inlet hose clip on the outlet duct commence clamping the air cleaner outlet duct at the Throttle Body and maf/iat sensor at 7 nm (62 inch lbs.).

    Q:
How to replace the water pump (8.1L) on GMC Sierra 3500? Posted by Customer
    A:
Before replacing the Water Pump you need to empty the cooling system fluids then take off the Drive Belt and Fan Clutch. Moving the outlet hose clamp allows simple detachment of the outlet hose from the Water Pump. Push back the clamps at both the Water Pump and the crossover water mandrel before removing the bypass hose. Secure the bolts of the Water Pump before removing it from the engine block. Drop the used gaskets when you discard the Water Pump. You must use new gaskets before setting the Water Pump in place and tightening its bolts to 50 nm (37 ft. Lbs.). Reinstall your bypass hose and place its clamps both at the Water Pump and water crossover components. Fix the outlet hose to the Water Pump and lock the hose with the outlet clamp. Put back the Fan Clutch then slide on the Drive Belt before refilling the cooling system.
