The procedure for replacing the front side door inside handle begins by stripping off the door trim panel then moving to the door module along with the water deflector. Proceed by taking out the door handle fastener then snapping the lock and latch rods from the rod guide. The handle assembly can be released by moving its forward position which frees up the retainer tabs followed by tilting the handle to take out its rods starting from the handle lever rod then moving on to the lock knob rod. When installing the rods insert them into the inside door handle in backward order while you should position the retainer tabs into the door slots before moving the handle toward the rear. The inside door handle fastener installation requires tightening it to 2 N.m (18 lb in) after positioning the lock and latch rods inside the rod guide. To complete the installation replace the door trim panel after the water deflector and door module.
