Buick LeSabre Door Handle Parts Questions & Experts Answers
Q: How to Ensure Proper Installation of a Door Handle on Buick LeSabre?
A: Begin installation of the front side door outside handle by fully lifting the window and then removing the door trim panel. The right rear push-in retainer located on the water deflector should be removed first before pulling the piece back to access the outside Door Handle. To begin the process, open the retainer at the door latch then discontinue the connection between the door latch rod and the outside Door Handle rod. The user should insert an upward force with an outward component to remove the Door Handle fasteners followed by lifting the handle and lock rods assembly out. The outside Door Handle and lock cylinder rods should then be removed from their placement. Installation begins when you join the handle and lock cylinder rods to the outside Door Handle followed by putting the handle and rods into the door through a horizontal rotation with rod insertion into the cutout and handle placement followed by upward and inward pressure application. The door metal should slide into the two lower retaining tabs on the handle as you move the handle downwards while ensuring outside Door Handle fasteners reach 7 n.m (62 lb in). Before closing the clip of the Door Latch Assembly you must connect the lock cylinder rod with the door latch and then guide the Door Handle rod into the clip position. Performing proper examination of the Door Handle with lock cylinder should be the first step before water deflector and door trim panel installation starts.
