2000 Buick Park Avenue Air Suspension Compressor Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the Air Suspension Compressor on 2000 Buick Park Avenue?
A: The first step to replace the Air Suspension Compressor requires lifting the vehicle and using proper support systems. Ensure the cleaning of all components including the Air Hose and intake Air Filter and Air Suspension Compressor area to stop dirt particles from reaching the alc system. Start by disconnecting the air tube from the air dryer while using tools to remove the bolt and harness tie connected to the Air Suspension Compressor bracket. Next remove the intake Air Filter. Separate the vehicle harness from the Air Suspension Compressor connector while taking out the two nuts plus bolt to remove the Air Suspension Compressor assembly from the vehicle. First disconnect the Air Suspension Compressor connector from the connector anchor while removing two bolts and the heat shield from the Air Suspension Compressor bracket before stripping three bolts to free the Air Suspension Compressor assembly from the bracket. Start by taking off the air dryer attached to the Air Suspension Compressor and then unlink the Air Hose from two compressor connectors. After that remove two screws and two brackets from the Air Suspension Compressor. Install the air dryer by attaching brackets to the Air Suspension Compressor with 7 nm (62 inch lbs.) torque on the screws and connecting hoses at two points before installing the air dryer on the compressor. First install the Air Suspension Compressor assembly onto the bracket through tightening three bolts to 3 nm (26 inch lbs.) followed by installing the heat shield onto the Air Suspension Compressor bracket using two bolts which will be used in the next step. Complete installation by connecting the Air Suspension Compressor connector to its anchor and fastening the compressor unit to the vehicle with two nuts and a bolt at 9 nm (80 inch lbs.) torque. Also connect the harness to this same compressor connector. Move the intake Air Filter into position while using the harness tie to secure the air tube to the bracket of the Air Suspension Compressor through tightening its three bolts to 4 nm (35 inch lbs.). The alc system will complete the arc during a 45-second ignition period so passengers can fill air adjustable shock absorbers with residual pressure before lowering their vehicle.
