Check the Crankshaft rear oil seal release while making sure to avoid both the Crankshaft od surface and chamfer damage with a flat-bladed tool. A small flat-bladed tool inserted through the dust lip at an angle will let you remove the Crankshaft rear oil seal by moving the tool's handle towards the end of the Crankshaft while repeating the procedure as needed. The id of the bore should be examined for any issues and the Crankshaft rear oil seal housing should be repaired or replaced as needed. The surface of the Crankshaft that contacts the rear oil seal should also be checked for nicks or burrs and the Crankshaft may need to be repaired or replaced. The rear Crankshaft seal installer (J33196) employs engine oil to coat both inside and outside diameters of the new Crankshaft rear oil seal before sliding it over the mandrel until it reaches the j38196 collar position. Insert the new Crankshaft rear oil seal into the bore of the j38196. Tighten the screws to a torque of 5 nm (54 inch lbs.), then turn the t-handle to push the seal seating correctly between the Crankshaft housing and Crankshaft. Check the seating. The t-handle of j38196 needs loosening until it stops motion while positioning the collar for the next new Crankshaft rear oil seal installation. Next, remove all attaching screws. After completing the reinstall of the engine Flywheel check fluid levels and inspect for any evidence of leakage.
