2000 Buick Regal Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the A/C Condenser in an A/C system on 2000 Buick Regal?
A: Air cleaner assembly removal and duct assembly follow to start the condenser replacement process along with cross vehicle brace if installed. Refrigerant recovery follows while removing the Radiator with subsequent detaching of the liquid line nut from the condenser and placing the liquid line safely aside. To take out the condenser first remove the compressor line nut then place the compressor line aside and then remove the condenser. When installing your new condenser begin by applying mineral base 525 viscosity refrigerant oil to new o-ring seals then secure them onto compressor hose and liquid line. First join the liquid line to the condenser before tightening the liquid line nut to 27 n.m tension (20 lb ft torque). Then join the compressor hose to the condenser and tighten the compressor hose nut to 16 n.m torque (12 lb ft torque). The Radiator receives replacement before the a/c system undergoes evacuation, charge operations, and leak testing occurs. Guide the replacement of both the air cleaner and duct assembly with the cross vehicle brace if available.
