2000 Cadillac Catera Ride Height Sensor Parts and Q&A

  • Q: How to service the ride height sensor on 2000 Cadillac Catera?
A: The first thing to do is to lower the suspension by disconnecting the negative Battery Cable and supporting the vehicle. First, take off the alc sensor connector, then clip the wires off the rear axle cradle, and pop open the self-locking tabs to remove the link rod from the sensor arm. Take out the alc sensor bolts and after that remove the alc sensor. Install the alc sensor at first, and after that, tighten the alc sensor bolts to 14 nm (124 inch lbs.). With the locking tabs, join the link rod to the alc sensor arm, and then place the alc sensor wiring into the rear axle cradle, pinching the wiring in place. Connect the electrical connection again, lower the vehicle to the ground, and put the negative Battery Cable back on. Connect the scan tool to reprogram the alc system, verify the display instructions, and afterwards check for diagnostic trouble codes and see if the system is working.
