  A: Your replacement of the Heater Core starts by disconnecting heater hoses from the component then removing the instrument panel assembly. Start by disconnecting the Heater Core cover fasteners before proceeding to the Heater Core retaining fasteners. After that remove the Heater Core retaining straps and finally remove the Heater Core. In addition to the Heater Core case seals you should also remove them. The required tools for installation include electronic halogen leak detector (J 39400-A) and a/c refrigerant recovery, recycling and recharging system (J 39500-B). Initially install the new Heater Core and later put on the Heater Core retaining straps while adding new Heater Core case seals. Fasten the Heater Core retaining fasteners before torquing them to 1.4 n.m (13 lb in). After fitting all fasteners of the Heater Core cover, torque them with the specific torque specifications. Reinstall the instrument panel assembly while connecting the heater hoses to the Heater Core.
