How to service and repair the Power Steering Hose on 2000 Cadillac Eldorado?

Before servicing or repairing power steering line/hose it is essential to drain fluid from the Power Steering Reservoir. Start your power steering service after disconnecting the hose from the cooler inlet and supporting and elevating the vehicle. Insert a screwdriver underneath the hose retention clip attached to the front crossmember and remove it. Repeat this step on the pipe clip located at the side frame rail. The service process starts with hose removal from the steering gear then moving the part outside the vehicle. Begin hose installation by applying it to the vehicle then connecting it to the steering gear unit. Install the hose retainer at the front crossmember while tightening it to 17 nm (13 ft. Lbs.). After this attach the clip back to its spot on the frame rail. Lower the vehicle and proceed with connecting the hose to the cooler assembly. Complete the procedure by filling the Power Steering Reservoir while performing a power steering system drain.
