How to replace brake calipers on 2000 Cadillac Seville?

Before working with the brake caliper you must drain two-third of the brake fluid from the master cylinder. Position the car on a lift then firm up the support base. Note the wheel position before you take off both wheel and tire elements. Apply a large c-clamp over the caliper housing to push the piston inside the caliper bore, make space for the caliper to be removed from the rotor. You need to disconnect the inlet bolt on the caliper and seal the opening to protect the fluid system when the caliper is being taken apart for repairs. To complete the task you need to first remove the caliper pin bolts and pull out the caliper unit. Push the caliper piston fully into its bore before fitting the new caliper over the brake pads into the bracket bushings and secure it with the caliper bolts tightened to 85 nm (63 ft. Lbs.). Fasten the brake hose inlet to the caliper by tightening the fitting bolt to 45 nm. Empty the brake fluid reservoir before adding the tire and wheel set onto the vehicle.
