2000 Cadillac Seville Steering Knuckle Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service and repair the steering knuckle on 2000 Cadillac Seville?
A: Steering Knuckle maintenance begins by lifting the vehicle and removing its wheel along with the tire. Begin by taking out both the rotor and the front wheel bearing assembly. The j 24319-b steering linkage and Tie Rod puller functions to disconnect the Tie Rod from the Steering Knuckle before dividing the Ball Joint from the Steering Knuckle. After removing Steering Knuckle attaching nuts and bolts users can disassemble the strut to knuckle unit. Once you attach the Steering Knuckle to the strut you must properly tighten the strut to knuckle bolts to 185 nm (136 ft. Lbs.). The lower Ball Joint needs to be joined first followed by installation of the Tie Rod while tightening the Tie Rod end to knuckle nut to 10 nm (88 inch lbs.) with 180 - 300 degrees (3 - 5 flats) additional rotation beyond that point until the cotter pin reaches proper alignment. After mounting the Wheel Hub bearing assembly you must add the rotor before securing the wheel and tire. Finally, check the wheel alignment. The repair requires execution with three specific tools: j 43828 Ball Joint separator and j 24319-b steering linkage and Tie Rod puller and j 28733-b hub and bearing puller.
