Maintenance of the clutch Release Bearing requires manual transmission removal before rotating the bearing in either direction to permit the compression spring force that pushes out the bearing from the end of the clutch actuator cylinder. New clutch Release Bearing installation requires both cleanser-free treatment of the quill and no application of grease since the bearing arrives with its own pre-applied lubrication. Use a dry clean cloth to wipe the quill of the actuator cylinder and push the clutch Release Bearing onto this surface until it locks into position over the retainer tab. Silent retention will maintain the bearing's connection. Finally, reinstall the manual transmission.
