2000 Chevrolet Corvette Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to service the MAP Sensor on 2000 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: Service of the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor starts with removing the pcv heat exchange cable fastener and continuing with separating the pcv hose from the Throttle Body and the right bank port. After separating the pcv hose assembly from its mounting brackets slide it out of the way. Uninstall the Fuel Rail assembly before you separate the MAP Sensor harness connector. You should pull the MAP Sensor forward while it is releasing from its retainer before lifting it upward. During installation check the MAP Sensor seal for damage before repairing or use clean engine oil to treat the seal. Then install the sensor. Push down to install the MAP Sensor into its retainer before connecting the MAP Sensor harness connector. Reinstall the Fuel Rail before positioning the pcv hose assembly for reassembly through its mounting brackets. Attach the pcv hose to its proper port on the right bank port and the pcv hose to the Throttle Body before tightening the pcv heat exchange cable fastener to 12 n.m (106 lb in).
