2001 Chevrolet Corvette Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the MAP Sensor on 2001 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: Before replacing the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor, remove the engine sight shields and Fuel Rail assembly; for access to the MAP Sensor is limited but, does not require the intake manifold to be removed. Then, take off the pcv heat exchange cable fastener, the pcv hose from the Throttle Body, and the pcv hose from the right bank port. Free the pcv hose assembly from the mountin brackets and slide it to one side. Remove the MAP Sensor harness connector, take the MAP Sensor out to detach it from the retainer, and then raise the MAP Sensor up. Prior to the installation of the new MAP Sensor, examine the seal of MAP Sensor for any damages then replace and lightly oil the seal with clean engine oil. Fasten the MAP Sensor by pushing it downward to hook it up to the retainer, hook up the harness connector, and locate the pcv hose assembly for reassembly. Mount the pcv hose assembly into the mounting brackets, connect the pcv hose to the right bank port, and the pcv hose to Throttle Body. Retighten the pcv heat exchange cable fastener to 12 n.m (106 lb in), reinstall the Fuel Rail as well as the engine sight shields.
