  • Q: How to service the ignition coil on 2000 Chevrolet Corvette?
A: The first step to service the Ignition Coil includes disconnecting the negative Battery Cable. Begin by removing the fuel rail cover followed by disconnecting the Ignition Coil harness connector before removing the spark plug wire from the Ignition Coil. First loosen and remove the bolts that secure the Ignition Coil to the engine block before pulling out the Ignition Coil itself. Follow these instructions for installation by placing the Ignition Coil into position then installing the Ignition Coil mounting bolts until torque reaches 12 n.m (106 lb in). Connect the spark plug wire at the Ignition Coil while also fastening the Ignition Coil harness connector with 12 n.m of torque (106 lb in). Reinstall the fuel rail cover then reconnect the negative Battery Cable while tightening the bolt to 15 n.m at 11 lb ft torque. Program the transmitters according to your requirements.
