How to service the Ignition Control Module on 2000 Chevrolet Impala?

In servicing the Ignition Control Module, first off the ignition and there are no electrical connectors on the Ignition Control Module which should be disconnected. Mark the position of the Spark Plug Wires in the process of reinstalling them and pull out the ignition coils wire connection. Take the screws mounting the coil assemblies to the Ignition Control Module out and disconnect the coils from the module. Next, disconnect the fasteners that hold the Ignition Control Module assembly to the engine and pull out the Ignition Control Module from the module mounting bracket. For installation, it is time to return the Ignition Control Module on the module's mounting bracket and install the coils on the module. Reinstall the screws into the coils and module in the module mounting bracket, making sure to tighten them to 4-5 n.m (40 lb in). Finally, reconnect the Spark Plug Wires with the references made during the removal operation and connect the electric connectors to the Ignition Control Module.
