How to Service and Repair the Brake Backing Plate on 2000 Chevrolet Malibu?

In order to service and repair the backing plate, lift the vehicle and dismount the brake shoes, brake hose and park brake cable. Unscrew the bearing plate and hub, and the backing plate. Install in reverse sequence with the wheel cylinder and top it off with bleeding the braking system and putting the car on the ground.
