2000 Chevrolet Malibu Parts Questions & Experts Answers

  • Q: How to replace the wheel cylinder on 2000 Chevrolet Malibu?
A: Before the wheel cylinder replacement you need to lift the vehicle and position support stands under it. Take out the wheel cylinder after removing the wheel bolts. Use a cleaning method to remove the worn sealant from the wheel cylinder installation surface of the backing plate. Put Loctite(R) GM P/N 12345382 sealant onto the wheel cylinder contact area on the backing plate and put the wheel cylinder into position. Affix the wheel cylinder mounting bolts securely to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.) torque specification. Settle the bleeder valve and fasten it to 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.). Set the backing plate first then put on the tire and wheel assembly. End the process with wheel cylinder bleeding then put the vehicle down.
