The strut spring compressor (J 34013-B) requires mounting into the holding fixture bench mount (J 3289-20) where users can install the strut assembly using the lower strut spring compressor adapter (J 34013-88). First compress the coil spring before taking off the dust cap together with the strut rod piston nut. Eject the compressed spring from the strut spring compressor (J 34013-B) after removing the strut assembly from this unit. Start by removing the strut support followed by dust seal spring seat upper insulator coil spring spring bumper and lower insulator . Installation requires users to place the lower insulator followed by the spring bumper then coil spring after that upper insulator and spring seat followed by dust seal and ending with the strut support on the strut. Install the strut assembly into the strut spring compressor (J 34013-B) while using the lower strut spring compressor adapter (J 34013-88) to compress the coil spring. Tighten the strut rod piston nut up to 47 n-m (34 ft. Lbs.) when installing it. Add wheel bearing lubricant gm p/n 1051344 or equivalent to the strut support before installing the dust cap as you let go of the compressed coil spring.
