How to replace the Shock Absorber strut assembly on 2001 Chevrolet Malibu?

In order to change the strut assembly, one should firstly lift and support the vehicle, take off the tire and wheel assembly. Script the strut to the knuckle, and the strut mount to body nut found in the trunk area. Then remove the strut bolts from inside the fender well, strut knuckle bolts and nuts from the strut . After that, take the strut out of the vehicle. For installation, align the strut back into the vehicle and loosely install the strut to knuckle bolts and nuts ensuring that scribe marks are aligned for alignment during installation. Mount the strut to body bolts into the fender well and tighten them to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.) and tighten the strut to knuckle bolts to 120 Nm (89 ft. lbs.). Replace the tire and wheel assembly on the vehicle and take the vehicle down, installing the strut to body nut in the trunk to a torque of 18 Nm (18 ft. lbs.). Finally, check the wheel alignment.
