  A: Start work on the Brake Drum when you free the parking brake and position the vehicle properly for service. Pull out the wheel and tire system from the rear of the vehicle before taking off the drum. The backing plate adjuster requires removal but you can fit a screwdriver through its hole to push away the park brake lever strut when the drum does not let loose. Twist the park brake lever strut with a different screwdriver to decrease the Brake Shoe setting before this step.
